Playing by different rules
An innovative construction process using environmentally sustainable design principles results in a multi-award winning development
Unless it suddenly springs a leak, most people probably wouldn't pay much attention to their roof, let alone worry about how it is going to fit in with the surroundings. For Viridian Noosa though, the roof line on its villas was one of the key considerations of the design.
Ritek Building Solutions was contracted to provide a roofing system that offered more benefits than the traditional methods of roof construction, says general manager sales and marketing Paul Moloney.
"The project required a roofing system which would be installed quickly, allow for large unsupported spans, provide high thermal values, and enabled the architect to suspend featured ceilings without the need for additional supporting structure."
The solution was Ritek's Custom Roof Panel. The resulting panels offer several advantages over the traditional method of roof construction, namely large unsupported spans which reduced the need for traditional support members, thus allowing for unobstructed and maximised ceiling heights.
