Very often, what transforms a kitchen from a utilitarian room into an inviting living space is quality craftsmanship. Cabinetry, countertops and accessories displaying fine architectural detailing can make an eloquent visual statement.

"Arched mouldings, with decorative motifs, suggest an aged refinement on the outside, yet on the inside are housed contemporary luxuries, such as a temperature controlled wine rack," says Livingston.
