Kitchen furniture that sets the stage for eloquent conversation is available from Smartrooms
Very often, what transforms a kitchen from a utilitarian room into an inviting living space is quality craftsmanship. Cabinetry, countertops and accessories displaying fine architectural detailing can make an eloquent visual statement.
At Smartrooms, traditional kitchens are designed around ornate pieces that create a focal point in the room, says president Jim Livingston.
With 30 years in the kitchen design industry, Livingston has drawn on his wealth of experience to make Smartrooms the nation's foremost Wood-Mode dealer.
In the white-painted maple kitchen pictured opposite, the range of architectural detailing includes wainscot paneling and corner pilasters. The countertops are made from distinctive soapstone, and a wrought iron pot rack is suspended above the island as a functional design piece.
In another kitchen display, dark burnished cherry wood cabinetry conceals a number of modern appliances behind solid, traditional pieces of furniture.
"Arched mouldings, with decorative motifs, suggest an aged refinement on the outside, yet on the inside are housed contemporary luxuries, such as a temperature controlled wine rack," says Livingston.
