Whangaparaoa Public Library is an exercise in ecological design. With energy efficiency, durability and low maintenance costs high on the list of considerations, a key component of the design was the choice of roofing.

Brownbuilt 900¢ steel roofing from Dimond¢ was selected, as its folding planes were able to incorporate environmental design features, including ventilation windows and skylights.
