Ever wondered why a picture is worth athousand words? It's because a picture has the power to elicit an emotional response from the viewer sometimes just by the colours used. It's the same with an interior design scheme the colours chosen for the walls of a room will determine how that room is viewed.

For the colour scheme in Harwood Homes' latest show home, Victoria Martin-Gardner of Fresco Interiors in Mount Maunganui drew inspiration from the home's surroundings.

"This home is situated next to a nature reserve, so whilst we were looking to create a statement, we were sympathetic towards the environment. The interior complements the outlook."

Resene Kiwi sets a sophisticated mood, making it an ideal choice for formal areas.

Brown tones in the living areas give way to blue tones in the bedrooms, which feature Resene Hermitage from The Range fashion fandeck.

Surfaces were painted with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen, which combines durability with low odour and easy clean-up. A low sheen also means any surface imperfections are minimised.
