Technological advances have enabled fresh approaches to architecture and construction. A light, high-tech membrane, for example, combined with intelligent design, can achieve a range of weather-proof, eye-catching solutions.

Taiyo Membrane Corporation custom designs and installs membrane structures for medium to major-sized developments, under the MakMax brand.

The possibilities when using membrane as a building material are endless, says project director Ray White.

"The lightweight material can be used for anything from covering a rooftop car park to creating the soaring canopies on the Wedding Hall in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates," says White. "The gracefully curved membrane admits high levels of natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day. At night, backlighting turns the canopies into a glowing landmark feature."

The nature of the membrane provides several architectural advantages. For example, its flexibility and durability mean the material can be manipulated into dramatic, inspiring forms. The membranes are also easily constructed.

Taiyo Membrane Corporation's design approach is distinguished by its team of qualified architects and engineers. They work closely with clients to develop solutions that achieve maximum impact, functionality and durability.
