It has been said that all the best parties take place in the kitchen. This is especially true of dinner parties, where the lively, fun aspects of preparing a meal can be just as memorable as the dishes served.

It is this social element that has helped in the development of the DCS by Fisher & Paykel professional-grade appliance collection. Vice-president sales and marketing Laurence Mawhinney says that just as people like to watch chefs in action in an open restaurant kitchen, so they enjoy watching and even participating at home. And the restaurant comparison extends to the performance and features of DCS appliances, such as the RGT-485GD 48-inch gas range.

This range incorporates two ovens one 5.3cu ft, the other 2.2cu ft. There are also sealed burners designed for easy cleaning, and platform-style surface grates that allow you to move heavy pots easily. The range is available with four, five or six Dual FlowBurners¢. In addition to extra-fast boiling, the burners offer consistently lower simmer temperatures.

Mawhinney says the professional design features of all DCS appliances reflect the company's background in manufacturing commercial appliances.
