Staying one step ahead of the competition is a sure recipe for success.

It's a practice familiar to Cass Brothers, a leading Sydney-based bathroomware company that last year celebrated its 40th anniversary. But, as director Ross Cass says, it's not the only reason behind the firm's success.

"Customer satisfaction and service are crucial," he says. "It also comes down to having the right product, and the foresight to see where trends are headed. We attend the biannual ISH bathroom fair in Frankfurt and get to see all the latest technology and designs, long before they reach Australia.

"This year for example, there's a move to harmonious, organic forms and water-saving technology. Both of these trends come together in the new Axor Starck organic mixer range. The organic form of these mixers is also very contemporary. They create a strong, sculptural presence in the bathroom."

The new Grohe Power & Soul¢ shower highlights another trend towards customised showerheads. This shower offers four spray patterns, including a rain-effect spray and jet spray. Changing between sprays is simply a matter of switching the selector on the back of the showerhead.

Ross Cass says the Cass Brothers showrooms, in Petersham and Waverley, are also showcasing the latest Kaldewei bath, the Cayona, a square-edged, freestanding tub. Another offering is the Happy D2 Duravit bath by Sieger Design. With its straight sides and curved ends, this tub redefines classic design. Both tubs can be teamed with sound systems for an even more relaxing bathing experience.

Other quality brands on show at Cass Brothers include Villeroy & Boch, Hansgrohe, Parisi, Caroma, Hansa, Brodware, Oliveri, Studio Bagno, Gessi and Paco Jaanson. Both European and local manufacturers are represented. And there are consultants on hand to help you work out the best solution for your home.

"We have a lot of repeat business and I am sure this is because we take pride in always exceeding customer expectations," says Ross Cass.
