Colours and patterns in this new kitchen can be changed whenever the family chooses. At present, the walls are painted in Resene Moby
Changing the colour of the walls has always been one of the most cost-effective and easy ways to freshen your home's interior. The owner of this house kept that firmly in mind when she designed her new kitchen.
Sally Steer chose a neutral base of white, taupe and silver, and introduced a clear turquoise blue colour Resene Moby to the walls to create a casual, beach-like feel and an element of fun.
Steer says she made sure key elements in the room could be updated as fashions and her family's tastes changed. Other colours she can visualise in the kitchen, which receives plenty of natural light, include darker tones, such as red, charcoal or green. The front panel on the island can also be easily changed as required.
Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Kitchen & Bathroom is recommended for kitchens and bathrooms. This waterborne, low-odour, Environmental Choice-approved paint provides a durable, washable finish. And because it is formulated with anti-bacterial silver and MoulDefender, it provides protection against bacteria and mould.
