From the builder/designer:

The brief for this project was to enhance the homeowners' outdoor living space and simplify the upkeep of their home by implementing products and finishes that would stand the test of time.

The project scope included renovating the outdoor living spaces at the front and rear of the home, as well as the swimming pool, access ways and carport.

Design solution

The design solution centred around creating a nature inspired pallet of durable and low maintenance products & finishes that complement the natural surrounding environment.

Careful consideration was given to researching, testing and selecting products to ensure they met the owners' brief, and also to engaging quality trades people.

The swimming pool and rear outdoor living area were brought up to compliance by creating access from the kitchen with a transitional landing and pool gate.

Hanging plants soften the area, and a new awning roof over with skylight insert provides weather protection and plenty of natural light.

Ceramic pavers were used for their durability, particularly around pool areas, and the existing rotting timber deck was replaced with Biowood composite decking for its durability, water & termite resistance.

CSR Cemintel Barestone prefinished panels were selected for the garden feature wall for their lightweight durable properties and design aesthetic.

Hidden planter box’s have been installed along the length of the wall and in time will grow to cascade over the top and soften the overall look.

A new custom aluminium balustrade frames the front patio area and provides privacy screening via the angle of the blades while still allowing plenty of ventilation.
