When kitchen designers need a platform on which to display their talent, Smeg appliances often take a starring role in showroom design
Showrooms are, for many kitchen designers, the stage upon which their ideas can be played out. This is why the choice of products, especially appliances, can be crucial in communicating their artistic vision.
For Sue Gillbanks, from Kitchens by Design, selecting Smeg appliances for her inner-city showroom was an easy choice.
"The design is all about straight lines and clean edges," she says. "Smeg appliances contribute to the sleek look. It is a well-known, reliable brand which complements our kitchen interiors."
A prominent feature of this design is the freestanding stainless steel benchtop, containing the Smeg five gas burner cooktop. The flush mounted gas hob has many features, including flame failure.
The oven tower contains a Smeg 60cm multifunction oven and a 34-litre convection oven. A stainless steel trim kit around the Smeg microwave ensures it fits into the space below the oven. Beside the oven tower, a Smeg refrigerator is concealed behind white cabinetry.
"Smeg offers designers the ability to integrate appliances seamlessly into the overall scheme," says Gillbanks.
