On permanent vacation
Resort-style living is not limited to the tropics. The facilities and high standard of specification on offer in the eko by Crown apartment complex make every day a holiday
High-end resorts may have pioneered the whole idea of integrated lifestyle facilities, but it's a concept that is finding increasing favour back home.
With the launch of the new eko by Crown apartment complex in Newington near Homebush in Sydney, the Crown Group has recognised the ongoing desirability of a resort lifestyle.
Kym Rogers, sales and marketing manager, says the Crown Group commissioned Joshua International Architects to develop a resort-style complex that would exceed potential residents' expectations and raise the bar for luxury apartment living.
The design team, which included Watermark Interior Design and specialist landscaping company Patio, designed a low-rise complex set in landscaped grounds. The project includes a 35m pool with an infinity edge, a glass-walled gymnasium and residents' lounge.
Show apartments highlight the high standard of specification that is evident throughout the complex.
"In equipping these units, we have positioned Crown as a company that provides affordable high-end design," says Rogers. "Architecturally, the eko by Crown has a distinct edge, but apartments are not priced beyond reach of the middle market."
The display apartments are equipped with a full complement of Fisher & Paykel appliances. Rogers says these were specified for a number of reasons, including reliability.
"The performance of the appliances reflects directly on the Crown Group, so it was essential we specify appliances from a company with a good reputation," she says. "Fisher & Paykel fitted the bill. As well as providing a high-quality product, the company offers particularly good service. Consultants were always on hand to help with the specification and installation."
Kitchens feature the Fisher & Paykel E442BRXFD flat-door refrigerator with the Ezy Kleen stainless steel finish. This 442-litre refrigerator incorporates Active Smart technology, which constantly monitors and adjusts the cool air flow so food is stored in optimum conditions. Humidity-controlled crisper drawers also help to keep fruit and vegetables fresher for longer.
The 60cm-wide Fisher & Paykel OB60SCEX2 oven offers six cooking functions and comes with telescopic runners, so there is no need to reach into the hot oven to retrieve dishes. For added safety, there is a triple-glazed, cool-touch door.
The oven is paired with the fully concealed Fisher & Paykel HP60ICSXW1 rangehood. This rangehood has a powerful centrifugal fan for efficient vapour extraction.
Eco-friendly gas cooking is provided by a CG604DWFCX1 cooktop, which comes with a wok burner and three additional burners. For added safety the cooktop features an automatic flame failure detector which cuts off the gas supply if the burner flame goes out. Cast iron trivets enhance the look and, on top of that, the durability of the cooktop.
Fisher & Paykel's fully integrated DD60DI6 Double DishDrawer maintains the sleek lines of the wood veneer cabinetry. With two drawers, this dishwasher lets you stack dishes in one drawer, while the other is operating.
The laundries also feature Fisher & Paykel appliances designed for family use. The WH60F60W2 6kg front loader is paired with the DE45F56EW1 fully electronic 4.5kg dryer. The washer is designed to keep water consumption to a minimum.
