Creating a house that fitted into the lush landscape and had the feel of a holiday home was a key part of the brief to Latitude Residential
The location and surroundings of a house are among the various factors that influence its design, while the lifestyle aspirations and the needs of the homeowners also have an impact.
The owners of the home featured on these pages took into account the bush setting of their property and wanted to create a contemporary home that had the feel of a holiday house. Latitude Residential, a home design and building company, worked closely with the owners to come up with a design that met this brief.
The house uses traditional cladding materials including corrugated iron, and outdoor areas flow seamlessly from the interior living spaces, enhancing the tropical, holiday feeling and allowing the house to take advantage of water views. With three bedrooms, three bathrooms, separate formal and informal living spaces and a double garage, this home is well suited to a relaxed family lifestyle.
The open design also creates and maintains a feeling of spaciousness, and allows the maximum amount of light to be introduced directly into the living spaces.
