In the past five years, the whole concept of indoor-outdoor flow has changed. It's not just single sliding doors opening up spaces to the outdoors houses now have entire walls of glazing and extra-large openings, as this project illustrates. To provide a large opening to the terrace on the top level, the designer specified extra heavy-duty powdercoated joinery from the Atlantic High Performance Suite, manufactured by Fisher West Auckland. These 2.6m x 4.5m sliding doors are paired with Eurostacker® sliding doors on the lower level and other window joinery from the Pacific Residential Suite. Ross Buckingham, co-owner of Fisher West Auckland, says the Sandstone Grey powdercoated sliding doors on both levels feature argon-filled double glazing that provides extra insulation."Both sets of doors have flush sills that create a smooth surface, which doesn't trap dirt and debris. They also feature a mortice escutcheon lock system, which is machined into the joinery for added security and ease of operation." The custom-designed windows were built to fit the granite with zero tolerance. For further information, contact Fisher West Auckland, 76 Delta Ave, New Lynn 0640, Auckland, phone (09) 827 5200.
