While we might have a very definite idea of the style of kitchen we want, it is always advantageous to bring in an expert.

The owners of this kitchen knew that they wanted a French country design that would utilize mainly freestanding cabinetry. They invited Amir Ilin of Ke¼che+Cucina to create their vision, in conjunction with interior designer Barbara Ostrom.

Ilin says the biggest design challenge was working within the home's shape, which is similar to a boomerang with two wings meeting in the kitchen. This area is used for meals and family gatherings, as well as large dinner parties.

To ensure the 1200ft2 space was both functional and cosy, three different shaped islands, in three different finishes, were strategically placed around the kitchen.

Ke¼che+Cucina has been designing and handcrafting kitchens for the past 17 years and has installed more than 3000 kitchens around the United States and the Bahamas. The company has won a number of design awards, including one for this kitchen.

Ke¼che+Cucina employs an experienced team of kitchen designers who work with each client from the beginning of the project to its completion.

"Attention to detail, a high level of craftsmanship and finishes, and professional service are what all of our clients can expect," says Ilin.

The 10,000ft2 Ke¼che+Cucina showroom houses a complete design resource center. In addition to show kitchens, there are individual product sections where clients can access in-house design specialists to assist them in the selection and design process.
