Complementing the quality materials used in this executive home, are appliances from Smeg's Piano Series
When a kitchen's distinction is in the detail, everything counts from the material used on benchtops and cabinetry, to the highly featured cooking appliances specified.
This is something Sue Hopkins from David Reid Homes kept in mind when designing and building this four-bedroom Highlander showhome in Nelson, especially with the choice of appliances.
"Smeg has a high profile both locally and overseas and the Piano Series in particular is characterised by careful attention to design detail and the latest technology.High standards are reflected throughout the house, which features materials such as schist and cedar," she says. "So it was natural to look for the same high quality in the appliances."
Kitchen designer Suzi Matz contrasted white Corian benchtops with aubergine-toned and high-gloss lacquer cabinets.
Beneath the benchtop on the kitchen's back wall are side-by-side 60cm multifunction Piano Series ovens. These allow for simultaneous cooking of multiple courses when entertaining. The F170 has ten cooking functions, while the F166 offers six. Each features removable triple-glazed doors, a heat-reflective inner layer and catalytic liners.
Above the ovens is a 100cm six-burner gas cooktop. Pressed from a single sheet of stainless steel, the easy-to-clean hob has a range of different sized burners, including two rapid burners.
