Building a large, luxury home requires special talents. In particular, precise craftsmanship needs to go hand-in-hand with efficient and timely progress.

Builder and general contractor Richard C. Rigoli & Company, (RCR), has been specializing in the construction of luxury residences for over 31 years, says company president Richard Rigoli.

"As a company we pride ourselves on not settling for anything less than the best in detailing and design work for our customers. Over the years we have built an expert team of supervisors, foremen, laborers and contractors many of whom have been with us for over 20 years. This consistency is one of the keys to our success," he says,

To maintain a high standard of quality, the company keeps new projects to a minimum, working on a maximum of two at any one time. This allows Rigoli to work hands-on as an advocate and advisor for the homeowner on each project.

In 1986, RCR formed Detail Millwork to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship in specialty millwork from kitchen cabinetry to wainscoting, mantles, crown moldings, custom entries and porticos.

"On this project, almost every square foot of the exterior and interior is extensively detailed. The ability to use our own millwork company aids the smooth running of a project. If we run into challenges, we can have components produced on the same day, which allows us to keep to the building schedule."

Challenges faced on this project included moving an existing barn. An extension to the original house, featuring a cherry wood library, was also moved and attached to the new residence.
