IT TAKES TIME for a city building to become an iconic landmark, but the Maritime Towers situated on the edge of Wellington's harbour and overlooking some of the country's most spectacular nautical landscape is already on its way to iconic status.

Comprising a nett lettable office area of 10,500m², a nett lettable retail area of 403m², and 51 car parks, Buckingham Asset Management built the 17-storey, glass-encased tower in 2006. It was the company's intimate working knowledge of all aspects of property acquisition, construction and management that made the project a resounding success, say company directors Peter Kennedy and David Hitchins.

"Our focus is to create environmentally sustainable, quality properties. We identified the last remaining north-facing corner site on the Wellington waterfront and constructed the country's most recent premium- grade office building."

Architects Warren and Mahoney designed the tower to offer occupants the many benefits of natural light, stunning harbour views, and flexibility in the way they choose to use the floor space.

The quality of the build project and materials enables tenants to be assured of high-performance communications and services, and an environment in which staff and clients can focus on, and enjoy, conducting business.

Buckingham Asset Management provides the operational structure for an extensive array of asset management, focusing primarily on real property. With more than 100 years' combined real property, company, and service provider experience, the company offers an extensive depth of knowledge in the area of commercial property, say Kennedy and Hitchins.

"The infrastructure of Buckingham Asset Management is well equipped to manage and complete all aspects of asset management to an exacting timetable and standard. The company welcomes the opportunity to present the benefits of placing future clients' office accommodation requests in the care of our management."
