The singular design of the Singapore pavilion is a visual representation of its theme Urban Symphony. The pavilion's architecture evokes images of a music box, its elements forming a symphony for the senses from the choreography of the plaza's water fountain to the melody of flora in the roof garden.

Amongst other subjects, the pavilion will showcase Singapore's achievements in sustainable development. "Tomorrow's cities must understand nature's way of building structures and communities, and move from exploiting the environment to being more in tune with it," says Ken Low, assistant chief executive, marketing group, Singapore Tourism Board.

Water and garden, the core design elements of the pavilion, will serve as a testament to Singapore's successful management of a key environmental issue balancing progress with sustainability. This will be exemplified through a tropical rooftop garden, and water-filled moat, designed to aid in maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature.

"We hope to help translate Singapore's eclectic urban tempo into an environmentally friendly message, based on its compilation of cultural influences, thriving within a well-orchestrated environment. Through our pavilion, we hope to encourage visitors to come and experience our unique blend of sustainability and innovation," added Low.
