Open-plan living spaces are perhaps the most sought-after feature in contemporary homes. However, this style of design can mean sacrificing privacy in living areas.
In this contemporary home, designed and built by Starr Constructions, the living room, which opens onto the deck and pool, is separated from the kitchen and dining by bifolding doors. These open to create one large space, or close to contain the rooms.
Starr Constructions has been in business for eight years, creating custom homes like this one. Director Nino Sanzari says it is through proven workmanship and a direct approach to building that the company was awarded the 2006/2007 Building Excellence Award from the Master Builders' Association.
