Commonly heard uttered in real estate circles is a repetition of that all-important word: location. In recent years, Queenstown has cemented its reputation as not only a tourist destination, but also an important location for investors.

Wensley Development Group have been creating opportunities for investors in the area for the past 10 years. The Club is the company's latest project. As with most of Wensley Development Group's projects, this high-end apartment complex fronts the clear waters of Lake Wakatipu.

Architect Edwin Elliott says he wanted the design to relate to the lake in a nautical sense.

"The colours and textures of the building are white and slick; there is a minimalist approach at work. Each apartment is inflected, so that when inside you are not aware of the immediate foreground, just the water in front of you. Details such as handrails are akin to those on a yacht," he says.

Julie Jack from Wensley Development Group says the brief given to Elliott included an aim for the view to appear continuous. One feature wall in each apartment is made entirely of glass.
