A hint of the beach and views for all timber partitioning screens and the use of glass, stone, and fabric in the furnishings brings nature into the office

FIRST IMPRESSIONS count. It is an expression that is particularly apt when a large accounting firm sets up new offices in a desirable waterfront location. Clients, unsurprisingly, will have expectations of pleasing aesthetics alongside satisfactory financial outcomes.

As the manufacturer, supplier and installer of much of the furniture for KPMG's Maritime Towers offices, Exclusive Furniture Company has ensured the firm's clients will not be disappointed.

Working to the architects' specifications, Exclusive built the mobile and fixed timber partitioning screens, the reception desk, kitchen fixtures and fittings, freestanding credenzas, glass whiteboards and fabric-covered pinboards.

Contract manager Bruce Syder says the fact that his company was able to pre-manufacture many of the components for quick installation, while still maintaining strict quality control, offset the challenges Exclusive faced by restricted access while building was ongoing.

"We weren't able to get access to the site until several months after we were awarded the contract, but our years of experience in commercial work ensured we produced fittings and furniture we are very proud of."

Much of the solid timber used is stained and polished, lending a warm yet contemporary feel to the offices. Timber battens encase the reception desk, along with a stone benchtop. A new melamine colour range was imported specifically for the project.
