Designing a new kitchen is always a challenging process. But, with good advice and a knowledgeable kitchen designer to help, the pressure can be alleviated.

The owners of the kitchen featured on this page approached Scott Bremner of Kitchen Focus to design a kitchen for their new home. They wanted a kitchen in a contemporary style and one that would work well for their young family.

To connect the kitchen and family areas, but still provide some separation, Bremner designed the kitchen with a bench-height breakfast bar between the two spaces.

"The whole design works well for our family. From the kitchen I can easily keep an eye on the children, and get on with the cooking at the same time," says one of the owners. "The whole process was much easier then we expected, and Kitchen Focus was well-organised and helpful."
