Modular design
Appliance design has evolved to fit ever-changing lifestyles, as Fisher & Paykel's innovative modular collection demonstrates
For years, it seemed there were no major advances in the ergonomics of appliance design. Technology certainly improved, but appliances were still the same size and shape they had been for decades.
Fisher & Paykel has changed all this, with the introduction of the 36-inch CoolDrawer and matching DishDrawer®, which bear little resemblance to the appliances of yesteryear. A CoolDrawer and DishDrawer can be positioned anywhere in your kitchen, scullery or living area.
Laurence Mawhinney, president of Fisher & Paykel Appliances says these modular appliances allow plenty of design flexibility, and are just as appropriate for a large kitchen as a compact room.
"A CoolDrawer can be placed next to the food preparation area or outside of the kitchen to provide an accessible drinks area. They can be programmed to operate as a refrigerator, pantry, wine cooler, chill zone or freezer."
Mawhinney says ergonomics is another key benefit. All the modules are 36 inches wide, and can be positioned at counter height to minimize bending.
The new DishDrawer also makes it easy to cater to the family's needs. The dishwasher is taller than the standard 24-inch DishDrawer and features a nine place-setting capacity, dual spray arms, fully adjustable racks and fold-down tines.
