Showhome villages are the ultimate in providing prospective buyers with a sense of how their new home will look. For design and build companies, the challenge is to fit out their homes in such a way as to appeal to the broadest range of tastes.
For its new show home at Silverwood, Epic Homes chose designer Vikki Gorton of Yellowfox to design the kitchen.
"A collaborative project such as this speaks to the heart of our philosophy of creating strong partnerships and a mutual regard for quality work," Gorton says.
"It was a great privilege to collaborate with Epic and interior designer Heather Thorley to create a kitchen that not only reflects the level of craft inherent in the home, but also one that complements the interior scheme.
"The result is even more pleasing when you take into account that I'm based in Auckland and the show home is located in Wellington," says Gorton.
Gorton says open communication between all parties ensured the entire process ran smoothly.
