Masonry charm

One advantage of building a new home is that it can be designed for optimal sun and the best possible views. The owners of this JT Design home engaged Penny Homes to create a design that gave them the sun all day long, especially in the living areas and master bedroom.

"We saw a really simple, flat-roofed, contemporary-style house with a plaster finish in a Trends magazine, and loved the look," says one of the owners.

"We decided on this design and chose Rockcote's lightweight masonry cladding finished with a textured Classico finish, because we know this is a good product that will last well, particularly given the amount of sun the house receives."

All products rely on professional installation by qualified, experienced tradespeople. This home was plastered by Taupo Texture Coatings, whose owners, Steve and Paula Amrein, were recently named Rockcote Systems 2010 National Plasterer of the Year.
