Made to order
By working closely with clients, kitchens produced by RH Cabinetmakers are practical and aesthetic
The way we cook, entertain and use our kitchens is individual, so renovating or building gives an opportunity to design a space to suit our own needs. Working with a professional who listens is a good way to do this.
Rob Hendrickx of RH Cabinetmakers says he goes through homeowners' plans carefully with them and discusses every detail to ensure the design is functional, meets their requirements and looks good.
In the kitchen shown above, the owners wanted functionality and clean lines. They also wanted a kitchen that stood out from the norm. RH Cabinetmakers combined white lacquer cabinetry and solid oak drawer fronts on the servery side. A solid oak countertop with a glass splashback separates the kitchen and dining room.
For a point of difference in the second kitchen featured, RH Cabinetmakers built solid heart rimu duckboard panels to form light boxes with opaque acrylic to diffuse the light. These run along the top edge of cabinetry and form a tall column at the end of the servery.
"Design flexibility is essential to meet customers' needs, but it's also important to produce a quality kitchen that's delivered and installed on time," says Hendrickx.
