Unique office sculpture As a result of these initiatives, the NZ Green Building Council has now certified the Slider Building with a 4-Star Green Star Office Design rating. An innovative design that offers efficiency in energy and water usage contributed to the certification. The site incorporates a storm water retention and filtration system to reduce the impact on the public system and a recycling storage area for separation and recycling of office water.Inside, the building features controlled lighting systems and air conditioning. Another important design consideration was to achieve a high acoustic rating for the building, which is located between Stanley Street the link between the motorway and the Ports of Auckland and the Parnell railway overbridge. As well as protecting the tenants from the effect of the nearby noise, special acoustic glazing works to improve the thermal properties of the building and maximises daylight penetration. Government departments, the National Library and KiwiRail have taken 95% of the building, and the balance is leased by Turners Catering. For more information, contact McDougall Reidy & Co, phone (09) 303 9655.
