It's probably a legacy of our colonial past to believe that products made outside of New Zealand, particularly those imported from Europe, are better than the local option.

And, while this may have been true in the past, with today's modern communications and technology, New Zealand is definitely on the world stage in terms of design and manufacturing standards.

When the owners of this home began planning a new kitchen for their home, they approached kitchen designer Anita Maes, who commissioned Carlsson Kitchens to undertake the manufacturing and installation.

To ensure the kitchen measured up to the company's high standards, all cabinetry was made in-house. Dark-stained wenge veneer cabinetry was edged in aluminium and all doors and drawers were fitted with quality hardware and accessories. The service provided by Carlsson also included the kitchen installation.
