Lighten up
Ideal for commercial applications, these lightweight, durable planters from Bentleigh By Design come in a myriad of colours and shapes
WHILE GARDEN planters are a practical and eye-catching method of enlivening patios and decks, they are also an ideal way of adding visual impact to commercial interiors.
Inspired by a demand from clients, architects and landscape designers, Ben Schurmann of LIANZ and business partner Lee Lawson established Bentleigh By Design to provide commercial and residential clients with a range of planters with greater style and colour options.
"Our challenge was to design and manufacture a lightweight, yet robust and aesthetically pleasing range of garden planters suited to diverse situations. After extensive research, we began creating a variety of handcrafted planters, using mostly recycled polystyrene and the latest plaster technology."
Using polystyrene an inherently stable yet flexible product enabled the manufacture of not only geometrically shaped cubes, chests, and towers, but also gently curved and subtly twisted forms. The company offers a significant choice of standard designs, and also custom manufactures to meet specific colour and shape requirements.
Completely waterproof for indoor applications, and available in either textured or smooth finishes, Bentleigh By Design planters are equally at home in the office foyer or on inner-city apartment balconies where space is at a premium and portability is paramount.
For customers wishing to personalise or portray a corporate image, mosaics or ceramic tiles can be integrated into the textured finish.
