Specialist projects need specialised lighting solutions and the new Roadlife Trucks dealership in Wiri is no exception.

The largest Mitsubishi Fuso dealership in the country not only operates new and used truck sales display areas, it also features a vast workshop. Not surprisingly, efficiency was a key requirement of the lighting, both inside and out.

To illuminate the exterior car park, the Philips Optivision Floodlight was specified. Philips Lighting says this high-end asymmetrical floodlight produces three times less spillover than other asymmetric floodlights. To minimise the impact on neighbours, this was essential for the car park lighting. In addition, minimal internal reflection in the Optivision's optics achieves a 20% higher output ratio, resulting in the need for fewer floodlights.

The workshop features Philips MHB400w metal halide Highbays in the ceilings. These luminaires are designed for lighting large indoor areas with ceilings higher than six metres. Philips Lighting says they particularly suit industrial applications where large open spaces, such as workshops, admit daylight freely. A wide-beam reflector has been used for wide-beam batwing light distributiondownwards. The lamps in the Highbays are Philips HPI-BU 400w, which are not only bright and efficient, but also provide good colour rendition.

Philips TCW216 Underverandah wall-mounted luminaires were specified for the pit area.

In the offices, Philips Europa 2 downlights incorporate energy saving lamps. While in reception Philips Master X-Tend TBS669 Fluorescent TL-5 recessed mounted luminaires provide efficiency, uniformity and glare control.
