Sleek contemporary styling defines the kitchen in the new Harmony Homes show home. It also defines the Smeg stainless steel appliances.

Harmony Homes director Grant Russell says Smeg appliances were chosen to meet the high standard of specification required for the kitchen.

"We have a long-standing relationship with Smeg," Russell says. "We have found Smeg appliances to be particularly reliable. They also have the high performance and contemporary aesthetics demanded by homeowners today."

The kitchen features the large, freestanding Smeg SA9066XS range, which is well suited to entertaining. The range has six gas burners with heavy-duty trivets and automatic electronic ignition. These include a fish burner for grilling.

The oven offers six cooking functions and incorporates twin cooking fans and a cooling fan. There is also a utility compartment.

Steam and odours are removed quickly and quietly by the Smeg K24HE90 rangehood, which has a four-speed fan. The hood can extract up to 800m³ per hour, and has a noise level of just 41dB.

Also shown is the retro-styled Smeg FAB32 refrigerator a design inspired by American fridges of the 1950s. The refrigerator is available in a range of colours as well as stainless steel, and comes with a chrome wine rack, ice trays and adjustable shelves and door storage. In addition, it features a tropicalised compressor, which means it works well in a high humidity environment and produces less moisture than standard refrigerators.

The Smeg SA8210X dishwasher is also equipped for entertaining it accommodates 14 place settings and offers five wash programmes, as well as a choice of full- or half-load wash systems. The dishwasher has a mark-resistant finish.
