Space-saving storage that's easily accessed
No matter how high-tech the school, there is still a need for printed material, and consequent storage for files, books and journals. To maximise space at Te Whanau o Tupuranga, the designers specified the Lundia Mobile Shelving System.
This storage system features the Lundia Rotadrive mechanism, which allows heavy storage units to be moved quickly and effortlessly. As one drive shaft connects the roller bearings under each pair of upright frames, the traction is precise, smooth and quiet.
Lundia managing director Monte Stone says the solid timber shelves are smooth, so bulky files can be easily accessed without catching on folded steel edges.
"The timber construction absorbs sound, so the units will not rattle," Stone says. "There are also environmental benefits the use of pine, which is a renewable resource, fits the sustainability criteria for many projects."
Shelves are adjustable vertically, at 50mm, or in optional 25mm increments. In addition, a variety of shelving heights, depths and lengths means the units can be semi customised to suit requirements. The exteriors can be Melamine or timber veneer panels.
Additional office and home storage solutions manufactured by Lundia include Cube storage, EasyGlide tambour cabinets, static shelving and the Mousehouse a workstation within a mobile cabinet.
