For this house, the client wanted a design with French Provincial origins that was well-suited to entertaining and included every modern feature.

"A porte-cochére and dramatic front door create a sense of arrival for guests, for example," he says. "Inside, a barrel-vaulted ceiling, complete with hand-painted fresco, is reminiscent of a French chateau."
