Lara Farmilo, Akzente/Poggenpohl – Winner – TIDA New Zealand Imported Kitchen of the Year
Congratulations to Lara Farmilo of Akzente/Poggenpohl
For the owners of this kitchen, a critical aspect of the design was that nothing should detract from the sculptural effect they were aiming for.
So there could be no vertical appliances visible, no handles on the cabinetry and all the fittings and materials selected had to contribute to the final sleek, uncluttered look.
Designer Lara Farmilo met the demanding brief by placing the oven and steam oven in a compact scullery, while all other appliances were integrated into the cabinetry of the kitchen itself.
While the back wall is a subtly balanced composition, the island is a standout asymmetric design, enhanced by the use of grain-matched Dekton Opera and enhanced by clever lighting.
What particularly impressed the judges was how so much of what the owners asked for was achieved in such a tight space.
Congratulations to Lara Farmilo at Akzente/Poggenpohl – our winner of the 2020 TIDA New Zealand Imported Kitchen of the Year.
