Laid-back lifestyle
For durability and a high standard of finish, Elephant Plasterboard wall linings were specified for this beach house
Holiday homes, by their very nature, have to be able to withstand a lot of wear and tear, frequently by boisterous, exuberant guests and that's just the adults.
To ensure the Sumar holiday house would keep its good looks for years to come, the architect Mark McLeay specified Standard Plus 13mm-thick wall and ceiling linings from Elephant Plasterboard New Zealand.
"These linings are very dense which makes them more durable," says McLeay. "The denser composition also gives the walls a better finish, and provides good sound insulation between the living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms."
Kevin van Hest of Elephant Plasterboard says because the product is 8% denser than other locally produced or imported plasterboard, it also has improved fire resistance and higher bracing ratings. And in fact all Elephant Plasterboard linings, including the 10mm Standard Plus, have at least a 30min fire rating for greater safety in the home.
