With sandy tones, elegant soft touches and a flowing family-friendly layout, this G.J.Gardner Palm Springs showhome is all about relaxed, stylish living

Pale tones and a cool, airy presence give this light-filled family home by G.J. Gardner Homes a welcoming feel right from the front door.

An elegantly curving wall – an element echoed on the kitchen island and master bedroom plinth – leads you through to a sprawling family/kitchen/dining space.

The kitchen is a show stopper in its own right with refined wood & white cabinetry, a long window splashback, a sculptural pendant over the island and a stunning skylight with architectural cross beams. The latest stainless steel Fisher & Paykel appliances gleam in reflected natural light.

Open to the greater space, the kitchen is also a couple of steps from the expansive covered al fresco entertainment space – complete with outdoor fireplace and its own skylights – another dramatic character feature of this holiday-feel showhome. In fact, with stacker doors pulled back, the kitchen/entertaining space and outdoor entertaining room become one.

In fact, this G.J. Gardner home boasts great connections generally, the scullery also has a rear door opening to the separate media room at the front of the home. And the media room has its own exterior door – opening onto the rear deck and outdoor room beyond that.

At the opposite end of the great family/entertainment room to the kitchen, there is a wall of glazing – it goes without saying that this large central room is awash with natural light year round.

Sandy tones feature throughout the home, complemented by the pale kitchen cabinetry and blond wood look floors that run through the public spaces. The wood floor works well with the external timber decking, making the combined spaces seeming even larger with all connecting doors drawn back.

Attention to detail is to the fore in this home and elements such as cove ceilings, gas fires, open display shelving, built in storage doubling as seating, and designer lighting all feature.

The family/entertainment spaces are on the right of the floorplan, bedrooms are to the left, culminating in the private master bedroom.

This parental retreat includes a vertical dowel wall finish already spied on the curving end of the kitchen island.

Above the dado line, the wall is finished in elegantly space wall panelling. Everything about this relaxed home feels, considered and individualistic.

The master bedroom also opens to the rear deck on one side and to an outdoor shower on the other – perfect for a post pool or post sea wash down.

The master is served by a generous ensuite and large, dressing room with beautifully finished timber cabinetry and wardrobes.

Other features of this design include a roomy dedicated laundry, right down to hard-wearing contemporary tilework, brass tapware, and gold-toned designer cabinetry handles.

This home would work well in any relaxed scenic or seaside setting – such as the Palm Springs, Papamoa, Tauranga setting of the showhome itself.

The home is clad in treated, cashmere-toned brickwork and baton panelling, while the gabled roof – translating into high ceilings on the interior – is in Colorsteel 6 Rib Long Run, colour Lichen.

Whether near the coast, in the country or in a leafy city suburb, this home exudes style, graciousness and a laid back yet refined feel.

This sunny, sandy-toned showhome is now open to view, so make sure to check it out – you can find all the details here. Alternatively you can explore G.J. Gardner’s wide range of customisable concept plans here or see more G.J. Gardner showhomes here.
