Jewel of the mile Anna Webster jewellery - interior finishes by Yellowfox

To quote the Bard, all that glisters is not gold. However, you may be forgiven for thinking the opposite as you approach the gilt-hued entry of the Anna Webster jewellery store in Newmarket.

Naturally, once inside, there is an abundance of glittering surfaces. From the crystal chandeliers and mirrored mosaics, to the precious gems themselves, the eye is dazzled by refracted light.

The interior architecture was designed by commercial and retail specialist Icandi Design, and complemented by a range of interior finishes specified by interior design firm Yellowfox, says interior designer Vikki Gorton.

"The brief from the client called for a store of an international calibre. In fact, the client declared that if she couldn't have a store on Rodeo Drive, she'd bring Rodeo Drive to Newmarket."

Gorton chose a variety of materials that would impart a luscious feel, including a leather-look wallpaper from Vision Wallcoverings. Quarella engineered stone counters from Tile Warehouse balance the Bestwood Veneer cabinetry with chocolate stain finish. Sculpted scotias, ceiling roses, gilt-edged mirrors and plush carpeting add further visual opulence to the overall scheme.

"Sitting alongside this more conventional retail experience is a manufacturing area where clients can see pieces being made. Graphic imprinted film ensures a clean interface is maintained between the store and the manufacturing area," says Gorton.
