The owners of this kitchen wanted the design and materials to tie in with the era of their traditional weatherboard home. Kitchen designer Scarlet Architects had suggested solid oak framed doors and drawer fronts, with a veneer panel for lower cabinetry and white glass panels in aluminium frames for upper cupboards.

To create the exact stain colour the owners visualised for the oak cabinetry, RH Cabinetmakers trialled a number of samples until the right shade was found. All of the cabinetry is fitted with top-of-the-line Blum Tandem Box soft-close hardware to ensure it functions smoothly.
