It's all in the detail
To ensure the standard of finish of this home would match the design and construction, Signature Homes specified a variety of Wattyl paints
The high quality of the decorative finish in the house built by Signature Homes is a testament to both the paints used and the workmanship.
A variety of Wattyl paints was specified for the project, which was contracted to North Shore-based company Fix Stop Paint (FSP).
FSP director Mike Watson says the Wattyl interior design i.d paint range was used for walls and ceilings in high traffic areas, such as the living areas, hallways and bedrooms. This ultra-premium acrylic paint is low odour and has a low VOC content, which makes for a comfortable work and living environment, especially for those prone to paint sensitivities.
The paint is approved by Environmental Choice New Zealand (ECNZ) and is the only low-odour, low-VOC paint in New Zealand to have Asthma and Respiratory Foundation New Zealand Sensitive Choice® approval.
The colour specified for the walls was Wattyl Bingley 1/8 . Wattyl Windbreak features on the ceilings. Bathrooms, trims and doors were painted in Wattyl AquaWallandTrim, an eco-friendly water-based enamel with odour and VOC content lower than traditional solvent-based enamels.
Watson says FSP has been using Wattyl paints on projects for the past 15 years and he uses Wattyl paints on his own home.
"We like the high quality of the paint, and the fact that Wattyl provides us with a complete system, from undercoat through to top coats. The paint range, quality, environmentally friendly technology and service are a real plus."
