Certain names have, over time, become synonymous with offering quality products in their specific field. More than 120 years ago, Francesco Bertazzoni built up a reputation for precision-made weighing machines.

It was the attention to detail and quality of engineering of these machines that established the Bertazzoni name in and around the local Emilia-Romagna region. With the opening of a major railroad, wood-burning cooking stoves began to arrive from Austria. Sensing a new direction for his company, the founder turned his considerable skills to the manufacture of his own brand of wood-burning stoves, which found success throughout Italy and Europe.

Today, the tradition continues, and the Bertazzoni name is known around the world. Conceived, designed and manufactured in Italy, Bertazzoni's ranges combine form and function into a collection of products suited to any decor, says company principal, Paolo Bertazzoni.

"The Master Series is the newest offering from Bertazzoni and has been designed for those whose passion is the joy of cooking."

It's a sentiment echoed by Elina Katsioula-Beall CKD, designer of the featured kitchen.

"Great design is a marriage of beauty and necessity. Their offspring is always a surprise and a delight and I find both in the Master Series Bertazzoni range, the new inspiration for my kitchen designs."

The Master Series bears the hallmarks of Italian design while its impetus comes from a professional kitchen ambiance, says Bertazzoni.

"One of the reasons the Bertazzoni brand has endured is the ability to anticipate the market, without compromising on quality. The Master Series is a design response to the timeless elegance of traditional or transitional decor.

"The series presents a less muscular facade that doesn't dominate the overall aesthetic, and allows the homeowner to personalize the kitchen with a distinctive focal point."

Master Series design features are clearly apparent on the faceplate. Large, durable rubber-coated controls with one-touch ignition and a classic-style temperature dial contribute a nostalgic air suited to traditional decors as well as more contemporary schemes.

"Consumers familiar with the Bertazzoni brand will note that the Master Series incorporates all of the features that define the brand," Bertazzoni says. "Consistently popular is the one-piece, highly efficient stainless steel worktop, ensuring an easy-clean surface that retains its design integrity for the life of the product."

Of paramount importance in the creation of the Master Series was a strict adherence to the company ethos of designing products that reflect a commitment to value, says Bertazzoni.

"Due to the level of engineering and design in all our products, it remains our mandate to exceed homeowner expectation, which we believe the Master Series has accomplished.

"In short, our products offer exceptional value without compromise. I am proud to stand by that statement, which is at the center of the Bertazzoni promise and is why our family name is on every unit we produce," Bertazzoni says.

"Balanced proportions, performance, price point and that unmistakable look of Italian style result, I believe, in a product perfectly suited for today," says Katsioula-Beall.
