In New Zealand, we have water views from just about everywhere we look, so it's not surprising that we tend to think of ocean vistas whenever we hear the word, view.

But just as abundant, and pleasant, are the verdant, leafy outlooks that epitomise many of our suburbs.

To enjoy just such a view all year round, the owners of this house commissioned expert architectural glass company Glasshape to create a custom curved glass balustrade.

Specialists in the design and manufacture of curved toughened, laminated and acoustic-rated glass for a range of external and internal uses, Glasshape carried out a digital site measure to demonstrate to the client how the end product would look.

As well as a number of curved panels, the company also installed S-bend panels with double curves, along with 100mm-diameter stainless steel standoff components, specially shaped to fit the curvature of the glass.

With an emphasis on continued research and development, Glasshape has established itself as a leader in the field manufacturing glazed panels up to 3.9m tall by 2.44m wide, the largest available in Australasia.
