Redeveloping Auckland Airport while it remained open demanded a high level of co-ordination among airport authorities and construction teams

Architectural specifications for the ceilingdesigns in Pier A of Auckland Airport dictated that they would need to be custom built, which could have posed potential problems.

However, charged with this responsibility, USG Australasia adapted its USG Drywall Grid System to suit. The flexibility of the system helped transfer the architects' vision of curved and stepped ceiling effects into a reality. Components needed were produced locally, which made for fast lead times.
