Fitting out an office space which has plenty of natural light streaming though windows presents little challenge to lighting designers. But finding the right lighting solution for a large boardroom with only interior walls papered in black is a little more complex.

The Trends boardroom has multiple uses from staff and client meeting space, to function venue, slideshow and presentation room, meaning the lighting must fulfil numerous requirements.

Fabbian Lighting designer and project manager Bianca Talaic had no difficulty coming up with the right solution to meet the design brief.

"The whole idea was to have a sculpture-like feature in the middle of the room, so we chose Bella pendant lights to hang over the boardroom table. These provide diffused light suitable for both daytime meetings and evening functions. Using multidirectional Conos Forma track-mounted lighting illuminates artwork and carries through that sparkle factor."
