Supplying a combination of hot, cold and chilled water for a commercial premises often results in a complicated system of plumbing pipes, large hot water cylinders and a myriad of smaller benchtop appliances.

To avoid this complexity in the kitchen areas and the boardroom of the new Audi showroom, Merquip was commissioned to supply a variety of its efficient and compact drinking water systems that provide boiling, chilled, filtered drinking water as well as hot and cold water to sink mixers.

The Billi products used in these areas are compact in design, fitting neatly into a cabinet under the kitchen bench. The units are water rather than fan cooled, so they do not need cupboard ventilation and operate silently. Heat produced during the chilling process is stored and channelled back into the system to preheat the boiling water. This environmentally friendly, patented thermodynamic heat-cell technology means Billi products use approximately half as much energy as other comparable systems.

Warren Gibb, general manager of property and business for the Giltrap Group, says that his group has specified Merquip products for about 10 years. They have been used in the head office, as well as in new and refurbished branch showrooms. "We have found that Merquip systems are easy to operate, reliable and environmentally responsible," Gibb says.
