Organisation, professional ability, adherence to budget all presented in an affable way with the best possible outcome. Site and style are key to realising the residence of your dreams but so, too, is choosing the right build company.

A dynamic and expanding subsidiary of commercial project management and building company CD Construction, CD Residential Projects specialises in all types of domestic new builds and makeovers. The company offers a wide skill set and a friendly team that includes project managers, builders and tradespeople, says managing director Robert Orth.

"It is this experienced in-house workforce that makes CD Residential Projects the reliable choice to project manage and build your home," he says. "Most of our house projects require thinking outside the square and some examples are shown here. One recent job involved the complete demolition of the rear of an existing house and construction of a two-storey addition all undertaken while the owners remained living on the property.

"This was completed a month ahead of schedule and came in under the client's original budget, which was quite an achievement, given the dilapidated condition of the old structure."

An even more dramatic residential project was the complete demolition and new build of a four-storey concrete reinforced structure, all on an extremely tight excavation in rock.

"Features for this dramatic, modern project included a suspended pool structure over the basement garage and internal lift access to the top floor," says Orth. "In addition, a high level of internal finish was required throughout, with marble and stone tilework in all wet areas."

Also shown here is a reinvention of an 1880s terrace, which involved gutting the interiors, while retaining feature ornate plaster ceilings. A modern 180m² extension was created to the rear of the house. CD Residential Projects also addressed external areas and perimeter fences, installing a plunge pool and providing off-street car parking.
