Eye-catching kitchens don't have to break your budget. With a little originality and the right materials, the designer look is easy to achieve, as these kitchens illustrate. The kitchens, from the Express Kitchens (partner company to The Sellers Room) showroom in Stoke, Nelson, all feature products from The Laminex Group.

Margarette Sellers from Express Kitchens says there are several reasons the company specifies products from The Laminex Group.

"We can create a high-end kitchen at an affordable price, which is a real bonus," she says. "We don't have to compromise quality or good design. We also like the fact that the products are highly durable, and available in an exciting colour range."

All the kitchens shown here feature doors and drawers that are 18mm thick, rather than the standard 16mm. Sellers says this contributes to a more polished look.

The kitchen above left highlights a Formica Milky Way laminate benchtop, with Formica Brushed Aluminium on the upstand. Cabinets are a mix of Melteca Lime and Laminex New Graphite, with a negative detail in Melteca Brushed Silver. The Scilm aluminium framing in the glass cabinets is another product from The Laminex Group.

A Formica Pietro Nero benchtop provides a decorative accent in the kitchen top right. It is paired with Melteca Velveteen and Melteca Oyster cabinets, and a colour-backed glass splashback.

In the kitchen above right, a rich Melteca Dark Oak laminate contrasts Melteca Designer White cabinets. The benchtops are Laminex White Valencia high-pressure laminate.
