One of the best ways to choose a new kitchen or bathroom is to view newly completed projects. But it can be time consuming checking out different showrooms and new homes.

An easier solution is to visit the Housing Industry Association (HIA) Home & Building Expo where you can see more than 50 kitchen and bathroom displays under one roof.

Executive officer Nicole Wilson says this year's Expo, to be held in Brisbane from May 27-29, 2005, is the largest in the history of the HIA.

"The Expo provides an ideal opportunity for homeowners to catch up with the latest trends in kitchen and bathroom design," she says. "Talented designers and cabinetmakers from across Queensland will be presenting the latest styles, colours, textures and technologies and pushing the boundaries of innovation and functional design."

Wilson says the kitchen and bathroom displays will occupy a significant share of the 20,000m² of exhibition space.

"Visitors can see new decorative finishes, storage solutions, appliances and products. There are also many space-saving ideas and designs such as pull-out pantries and accessible corner units and new high-tech drawer systems on show."

The Expo will also feature the latest sinks, basins, baths, tiles and laminates.

Wilson says each kitchen on display will be judged for a variety of awards, including the Consumer Choice Award one of eight awards. By voting for your favourite kitchen you will be in the running to win a kitchen to the maximum retail value of $20,000.

"The large number of exhibitors at the Expo and the wealth of talent on show make it essential viewing for anyone looking to renovate."
