Iconic imagery
Inspired by the Olympic torch and making visual reference to the Sydney Opera House, the 80-level Q1 apartment building soars high above the Gold Coast
Apartments on the first 40 levels of Q1 Tower have been designed for the resort investor, one who will make short visits and rent out the apartment for the majority of the year.
Leanne Pearce of Corporate Art won the contract to provide artwork for the 200 apartments available for rental, and also to provide artwork for the display apartment.
"We worked closely with Sunland's interior designer, Melanie Martin, to achieve her vision for the interior spaces of the apartments," she says.
Corporate Art sourced and supplied two different styles of artworks for the rental apartments. For a slick, contemporary look, photographic images of Sunland's previous development, Aria, were graphically enhanced to produce artwork for various spaces in the apartments.
In other areas of the apartments, acid-etched aluminium works on canvas are by local artist Wendy Schoenfish Young. The art has been designed to reflect the image of Q1 and co-ordinate with the modern finish of the units.
