Inspired by the Olympic torch and making visual reference to the Sydney Opera House, the 80-level Q1 apartment building soars high above the Gold Coast
Constructing the world's tallest residential building requires an innovative approach and mindset. For its work on Q1 Tower, Treasure and Associates won the prestigious Research and Innovation category of the Annual Queensland Spatial Awards.
Scott Nind, director of town planners and consulting surveyors Treasure and Associates, says the award recognises the company's contribution to spatial sciences.
"We had to adapt and develop existing technology to meet the precise demands required to construct the world's tallest residential building.
"Because of our particular combination of town planning and surveying services, we are well equipped to guide our clients through the complexities of the planning and development process of a project on a scale such as Q1," he says.
Treasure and Associates undertook survey servicing, including boundary, topographic, community titling and volumetric survey.
