"Here, the owners were a couple nearing retirement who had enjoyed Mt Martha in their early years, and wished to return after living and working overseas. They secured a 1099m² front row block at the end of a pleasant court with broad bay views to the northwest through to the beach in the northeast," says Graeme Alexander. "However the outlook came with a triangular-shaped block and several restrictions.

"The couple wanted their home to have interesting lines, offer easy access, and have plenty of room for extended family and guests."

In response, Graeme Alexander Homes designed a modern home with runs of floor-to-ceiling glass and refined interiors, raising the ceiling over the central core for a grand feel. The house was dug into the site to reduce bulk, and provide easy walk-up access to the front door.

The house is set up for an easy lifestyle. Upstairs is the entry, living and dining areas, and a tiled balcony. The kitchen, with walk-in pantry, has a breakfast nook. This level also has a study, and master suite with private deck.

An elevator accesses three more bedrooms downstairs as well as bathrooms, a sitting room, quiet media room, triple garage and laundry.
